The purchase (or sale) of electricity and gas can be complicated. Even for relatively small fixed price contracts you can end up on high default tariffs or paying high broker commissions hidden in the price.

It can even be that what looks like a good deal isn't after all; because the headline price quoted doesn't include everything that ends up on your bill.
