Energy contracts

Now Then is not your typical energy brokerage. We do not:

  • Spend all day on the phone / email trying to sell you an energy contract that you didn’t ask for

  • Provide a ‘free service’

  • Ask energy suppliers to add commission of our choosing to your bill

  • Worry more about sales targets than quality of service.

We do:

  • Take time to understand you and your business

  • Work directly for you

  • Negotiate energy contracts with no commission included

  • Invoice you directly for the service provided.

The purchase (or sale) of electricity and gas can be complicated. Even for relatively small fixed price contracts you can end up on high default tariffs or paying high broker commissions hidden in the price.

It can even be that what looks like a good deal isn't after all; because the headline price quoted doesn't include everything that ends up on your bill.

Flexible energy trading

  • Most very large energy users use flexible procurement, but it can suit more moderate levels of consumption or export too.

If you export more than 3 GWh of electricity per year, or you have an electricity or gas spend of more than £1M per year it’s worth investigating.

  • Our knowledge of energy pricing structures and patterns, combined with analysis of your consumption profile and operational practices, enables us to identify opportunities to save money on electricity, gas and standing charges through smarter consumption.

  • We provide consultancy on energy trading strategies, helping you to find the right level of price certainty for your business whilst making the most of the flexibility and transparency that flex energy products offer.

  • Flexible trading can be a great option for generators. It’s especially suitable and the default option for gas CHP, but it’s also ideal for AD plants, avoiding the need to fix a price for your electricity export in a single hit, instead enabling you to gradually hedge your position.

  • Flex can be complicated. Budgeting and predictability are important. We can help you to set your energy budgets, monitor your position and report on performance with business intelligence to suit your exact needs.

  • If you’re a larger energy consumer or generator, there’s money in supporting the grid. Schemes such as Capacity Market and Balancing Mechanism can prove lucrative and there’s more on the way. Contact us to find out more.

Energy prices change constantly, yet most consumers fix prices again and again, usually at a time defined only by the end of a contract.

At the most basic level, flexible energy trading means that, rather than fixing a price, you retain the flexibility to lock in prices at will.

Flex offers the ultimate in controllable, transparent energy trading.
